quick facts
▫ Beth, also poorlilrockstar on just about every journal server aside from LJ. ▫ 23, have been roleplaying for about eleven years. ▫ Vegas-based, so PST. ▫ Full-time employee, which means my online time often occurs during obscure hours, and I do not have a set schedule so I'm unable to be at your beck and call. ▫ Aspiring writer. Yes, another of those. ▫ 3rd-person storybook, past or present. I've been working on a story in which I write present tense, so although I'd normally roleplay in past, I forget sometimes and switch. Apologies in advance. ▫ Snark, sarcasm, wordplay, and foolishness pepper my writing and define my life. ▫ Generally prefer males, but I'm not opposed to playing females. I can't explain it, I just play better guys, I guess.
no thank you
▫ Anime. I just don't follow it. The only things I know about most characters come from RPing in multi-fandom games. I like Miyazaki films, and... that's kind of it. ▫ Harry Potter, for the time being. In truth, I love Harry Potter and the majority of my RP experience comes from it, but I'm very disinterested at the moment, so I probably won't join your game. But if you really feel the premise is that great, go ahead and ask. ▫ Twilight, X-Men, Heroes, etc. Okay, really? I <3 X-Men, but I can't do any of them justice. As for nearly every other fandom, I, again, don't follow it. I'd be useless to your game. ▫ PSLs. I only do PSLs with friends for character development and ideas for my actual stories.

Miscellany
▫ There's no particular "type" I play. I've played soulless bad boys and the heartwrenchingly shy. It's whatever I have an inspiration for. ▫ I'm very picky about PBs, and tend to find a face and build a personality around them. I recycle faces a lot too, but in different ways. For example, I've PB'd Brandon Flowers as two very different characters, but both have separate looks of Brandon... if you get it. Okay, better example: I've also PB'd Christian Bale a few times, but I use different movies to icon for each character. I use Johnny Depp for a character, but only his face in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I also won't play a character until I have the perfect face for them. I'll stew on a role for months until I find the right face. ▫ Controversy? Eh, it's okay. I'm more apt to play someone who just has no filter for their mouth than, say, an incest line. Nothing against it, but I'm just not heavily interested in taboo roles. ▫ Music. I've based a lot of kids after songs, and tend to mentally build a soundtrack to their lives. Once involved with a character, I literally hear/see them everywhere, and will hear a song and go "HOLY SHIT IT'S LIKE THE MUSICAL BIOGRAPHY TO (insert-name)'S LIFE." If you are like this too, then we will get on nicely. ▫ If we get involved in a line, I like to be upfront. If you see me online, you don't have to message me and ask me how my day's gone if all you really want to know is can our kids thread. I'm okay with that. Some people prefer super-anonymity. Do I? I don't care. I mean, most of the people I play with know my full name, my roommates' names, my cat's name, have friended me on facebook and myspace, and so on. But if you want to have a strictly character-based RP relationship, fine. If the line's great enough, you can do whatever you like.
And that's about it. Go ahead and browse through my kids either post-by-post, or by checking out the handy chart.
